Welcome to WiseLearn
A lifelong learning platform for the 2nd half of life
We offer our learning platform to Seniors Universities (Universities of the Third Age) for citizens 60+. Since 2020, we enable Seniors Universities to offer their lectures in a hybrid fashion (online in addition to on-site lectures). Together with our educational partners, we create a digital learning space that delivers academic content in a flexible, accessible, and contemporary way.
In addition, we develop our own online learning programs. We currently offer an introductory course on digitalization and artificial intelligence, as well as an introductory course on innovation and entrepreneurship.
Our mission is to promote learning in the second half of life. Lifelong learning expands knowledge and skills, fosters cognitive and psychological health, and strengthens social participation.
Our work is based on three core principles:
Scientifically grounded
We combine current research with practical educational development and use scientific findings to design effective digital learning programs.
Co-created with learners
Direct collaboration with learners is at the heart of our development process. Their experiences, perspectives, and feedback are continuously incorporated into our learning programs, complemented by dialogue with experts and partner institutions.
Collaboration with educational partners
We work closely with universities and other educational institutions (e.g., Volkshochschulen – People’s Universities) to build and further develop high-quality online learning environments.
As part of the Healthy Longevity Center at the University of Zurich, WiseLearn combines scientific research with practical educational development. We see great potential in making blended learning more accessible to people in the second half of their lives: flexible, self-directed, and featuring learning formats that facilitate access to knowledge and foster a joy of learning.
