Active learning as a brain booster: Our participation at the Zurich Prevention Day
At the Zurich Prevention Day 2026, everything at the University of Zurich revolved around the topic of brain health. Experts from research and practice shed light on what constitutes brain health and how it can be strengthened throughout the entire lifespan: from exercise and nutrition to social relationships and learning.
We were able to elaborate on the focus “active learning” in a parallel session with WiseLearn. The focus was on our learning and innovation offerings and our project-based approach, which we presented to show how ideas can be turned into concrete projects and implemented with the help of blended learning and collaboration in a community of like-minded people.
In keeping with the spirit of active learning, the nearly 100 participants of the session finally took action themselves: in small groups, they identified unmet needs or market gaps in their personal or professional environments. In lively discussions, they developed initial project ideas and reflected on their potential (social) impact.
It was impressive for us to see how much innovative power is generated when people develop ideas together and take first action – which is precisely the core of WiseLearn.
