WiseLearn in the magazine Visit of ProSenectute Zurich
In the first issue of the year, entitled “Volunteering” (No. 1 / Spring 2026), Burcu Demiray, founder and managing director of WiseLearn, and Remo Pianezzi, a long-time volunteer at WiseLearn, were interviewed for Pro Senectute Canton Zurich’s Visit magazine. In the interview, they talk about their collaboration, the idea behind WiseLearn, and why it is important to rethink the social narrative about aging.

The interview illustrates what WiseLearn stands for: as a hub for innovation, community and lifelong learning, WiseLearn offers people aged 50+ a range of digital and in-person opportunities to develop ideas, connect with like-minded people, and work on their own projects. Participants bring their own project or start-up ideas and further develop them with the support of coaching, workshops, and e-learning opportunities. Several practical projects have already emerged from this community. The interview presents, for example, the podcast “Hörsplitter,” (formerly known as “WiseListening”) which Remo Pianezzi initiated together with his colleagues Paul Kühne and Martin Färber as part of the WiseLearn offerings. The podcast, available on all major streaming platforms, is created by older people for older people and explores a wide range of topics related to aging.
